Ok, I received this question today! And I’m very passionate about this topic as you can tell from my videos. There is this very dominate belief that concealer is a highlighter.
It came from a very popular brand that markets a foundation set of highlighters and low lighters.
Here is what you need to know…
That product line is sheer and its not full coverage.
I knew my content was running against these techniques because of the comment section.
You can learn a ton from the comment section.
That product line dosen’t sell concealer.
So they cant actually educate on the difference.
The marketing is about quick and easy with makeup.
Its not coverage.
Concealer is formulated to COVER.
If you have a reddish nose with discoloration of any kind…
You will love the results of concealer around the nose.
It covers.
Here is a sign your concealer is not full coverage, its shiny and has a glow or dewy vibe. This product is not matte and its not the best choice for concealer. I do recommend a concealer that is lighter than your foundation. I also recommend you apply it before foundation.
You can use concealer as a highlighter but that isn’t what is was designed to do.
